Q. : Will this extension work with a 980 power roller even if the unit did not come with an 18" extension?

A. : This 18 inch extension comes with most 990 power rollers, but will also fit all the "quick click" series power rollers (Including the 980). The "quick click" series is any Wagner power roller that the arm or extension snaps onto the handle. (as opposed to screws on, such as the older 959 series)
