From SprayTech This top end unit is the industry-leading, four-stage turbine that produces 8.5 PSI and allows a contractor to apply heavy coatings at faster speeds with little or no thinning. The 485 can spray such materials as multicolor coatings, finish grade latex, and other water-borne coatings. It supports a maximum hose length of 60 feet.

From Gleem: Ok, so you are wondering how does the 485 4-Stage compare to the CS9100 4-Stage HVLP? Well, basically they are the same. They both have the same Max II gun, hose, and 4-stage tangential motor. The difference is the box itself for the motor. As you can see in the pictures the 485 uses a more square shaped turbine vs the rounder shape on the CS9100.
Now the 485’s are no longer a current model so we got a special price on them; which we are passing it on to the customer. Parts are not a problem;; again it would share the same parts with the CS9100. (Except for the air filters.)
Only down side we see is SprayTech is not offer the extra free gun promotion on the 485. But at this price it is still a very good option.
